Charles Andrew Moore/ Sig Klein

Charles’s father Alexander Andrew Moore was a lead miner from Tennessee, who moved his family to Joplin around 1880. Charles was the oldest of the five male siblings of the Moore family who built their futures on the lead and zinc mining boom of the region. The only exception to the rental properties Charles Moore called home for most of his life, was the large two story residence in Murphysburg at 102 Moffet. He built it as a “spec” house and lived in it until he sold it to Sig Klein who was Secretary-Treasurer of the Model Clothing Company.
