Murphysburg After Dark: Tales of Spirits and Secrets
Step into the shadows of Joplin’s most historic neighborhood and uncover the secrets that linger after sundown. Join the Historic Murphysburg Preservation on Saturday, October 11, 2025, for an evening of eerie tales and long buried stories among the elegant Victorian and Arts and Crafts homes of Murphysburg.
We will gather at Blackthorn Pizza and Pub at 6:00 p.m. before setting out on a guided walking tour through tree lined streets where whispers of the past still echo. Along the way, you will hear chilling accounts of restless spirits, unexplained happenings, and the lives both tragic and triumphant that shaped this storied district.
Tickets are $20 per person. Children under 12 may join free when accompanied by an adult, making it a family friendly way to enjoy history with a spooky edge. Wear comfortable shoes and bring your curiosity. The tour will cover several blocks at an easy pace but will be outdoors after dark.
